Macromolecules of the extracellular compartment of embryonic and mature hearts.

چکیده
THE FORM and function of the heart are the final result of an integration of cells, tissues, and extracellular material. The structure of many extracellular macromolecules is known, but studies of the cardiac extracellular matrix are still inadequate to provide a comprehensive understanding of it. The purpose of this review is to summarize the present knowledge of the cardiac extracellular matrix and to focus specific attention on this physiologically important compartment. It does not purport to be a detailed review of extracellular molecules; several excellent recent reviews exist." The three general types of macromolecules—collagen, glycosaminoglycan, and glycoprotein—which are characteristic of extracellular matrices probably differ qualitatively and quantitatively between different matrices and as a function of different ages, both preand postnatal, in the life of an animal. These three general classes of macromolecules will be described briefly after a review of some structural characteristics of the extracellular matrix.

The Effect of Cardio Gel and Matrigel on the Ultrastructure of Cardiomyocytes Derived From Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells
Purpose: To investigate the effect of cardiogel and matrigel on the ultrastructure of embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. ECM: Extracellular Matrix derived from cardiac fibroblasts (cardiogel), commercial extracellular matrix (matrigel) and control group (without ECM) were cultured for up to 21 days. Ultrastructural properties of cardiomyocytes were evaluated by transmitting electron mi...
متن کاملDistribution of Specific Glycoconjugates in Early Mouse Embryonic Notochord and Paraxial Mesenchyme
It is well known that glycoconjugate components of the cell surface and extracellular matrix, play an essential role(s) in many developmental phenomena such as cell differentiation, migration, and cellular interactions. The purpose of this study was to investigate distribution of this macromolecules during differentiation of the notochord and paraxial mesoderm. Formalin fixed paraffin sections ...
متن کاملEffect of Different Concentrations of Forskolin Along with Mature Granulosa Cell Co-Culturing on Mouse Embryonic Stem Cell Differentiation into Germ-Like Cells
Background: Germ cell development processes are influenced by soluble factors and intercellular signaling events between them and the neighboring somatic cells. More insight into the molecular biology of the germ cell development from embryonic stem (ES) cells and investigation of appropriate factors, specifically those targeting differentiation process, is of great importance. In this study, w...
متن کاملShort Communication Taurine Transport Characteristics of the Embryonic Skate (raja Eglanteria) Heart
The hearts of elasmobranchs, like those of other vertebrates, accumulate high concentrations of the amino acid taurine (Boyd et al. 1977), which is used to maintain osmotic equilibrium with the extracellular fluid. We recently demonstrated that embryonic hearts of the clearnose skate (Raja eglanteria Bosc) were able to accumulate taurine equally as well as hearts of adult skates and, as in adul...
متن کاملریبو نوکلئیک اسیدها (RNAs) در اسپرم بالغ
The nucleus of mature sperm contains a complex population of transcripts such as mRNAs and miRNAs which expressed and accumulated during process of spermatogenesis however in spermatozoa, transcription is inert. The spermatozoa do not have cytoplasmic ribosomal compounds and translation apparatus. However, spermatozoa can translate cytoplasmic mRNAs de novo, using mitochondrial poly...
